Gary Cooper | Bach & Vivaldi
Acclaimed director and harpsichordist Gary Cooper, returns to IBO to perform an exciting programme featuring some of Bach's most powerful instrumental works for Harpsichord, his D minor concerto and Bach's own transcription of Brandenburg Concerto no 4 for Harpsichord and two recorders.
Claire Duff and Andreas Helm, will perform another favourite of the Bach's instrumental works, his Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C minor.
Although rarely performed, Bach's cantatas form the main body of Bach's artistic output. His Cantata 42 Am Abend aber desselbigen Sabbats (And in the evening of that very Sabbath), is preceded by an exhuberant sinfonia for woodwinds, strings and continuo.
Bach admired Vivaldi and arranged some of his music. His 4 harpischord concerto is an arrangement of Vivaldi's concerto for 4 violins in B minor from his L'Estro Armonico collection. IBO presents Vivaldi's original for four violins in two concerts not to be missed in Sligo and Dublin.
