Owen Willetts, Countertenor
Owen Willetts won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, where he spent four years studying with Noelle Barker, Iain Leadingham and David Lowe.
On the concert platform, he has worked with many of the leading names in historical performance, including Laurence Cummings, Christian Curnyn, Richard Egarr, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Nicholas McGegan and Sir Roger Norrington. He has given solo recitals for the Belfast BBC Arts Festival, the Lichfield Arts Festival, the London Handel Festival, the Sligo Baroque Festival and the Tilford Bach Festival. With the Irish Baroque Orchestra, he has sung the St John Passion and the Pergolesi and Vivaldi Stabat Maters.
Operatic engagements have included Satirino / La Calisto and Ottone L’Incoronazione di Poppea for the Early Opera Company, Ottone / L’Incoronazione di Poppea for Royal Academy Opera and Reykjavik Summer Opera, Human Frailty & Anfinomo / Il ritorno d’Ulisse for Birmingham Opera Company and The Fairy Queen with Emanuelle Haïm at the Opéra de Lille.
