Masterworks: The Thrall of Three

Masterworks: The Thrall of Three

Programme Notes

Directed by Monica Huggett

This year’s concerts explore the power of the number three, which has a symbolic and mystical significance. From Telemann’s Trio for 3 violins, to his Triple Concerto for Oboe d’amore, ute & viola d’amore; and from Bach’s Triple Concerto in A minor to performances of three of his Brandenburg Concertos (including Brandenburg 3). Come see the inspiring and enthralling power of Three!

‘The music is always ear-catching and the captivating performances abound with verve and energy…’ Early Music Review (01.06.16)
