Antonio Vivaldi distinctive and idiosyncratic Italianate style is the pure essence of baroque. His music is always a delight and never fails to entertain, inspire and move the listener.
In Vivaldi’s World, we explore different aspects of “The Red Priest’s” compositional output. We will hear the ferocious energy brought by two duelling violins in the L’estro Armonico concerti op. 3 no. 5 & 8- where the audience will be on tender hooks! Vivaldi’s baroque flair and virtuosity is showcased by IBO’s violinists Claire Duff and Huw Daniel. The concerto for 2 cellos featured on our most recent disc Concerti Bizarri and we are delighted to present it once more with Sarah McMahon and Jonathan Byers performing the solo lines. Vivaldi’s intensely dramatic stage works are also profiled with his overtures to Griselda and Olympiade. The performance will run for 75 minutes and there will be no interval.
