Introducing our new CEO
Irish Baroque Orchestra announces the appointment of Cian Elliott as Chief Executive Officer, heralding an exciting time of development and expansion.
Cian has recently returned from Western Australia to take up the role with Irish Baroque Orchestra. Having moved away from Ireland in 2012, Cian built on his artistic experience by working in arts management and sponsorship in Australia.
Mr Elliott is a music graduate of Maynooth University. He also holds a degree in Business and Law from Nottingham Trent University. Cian has extensive experience in arts administration having worked with The Giovanni Consort, West Australian Opera, Resurgam and Pipeworks Festival, and in venue management at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin.
“I am very excited to be taking on this new challenge with Irish Baroque Orchestra. I have been an avid follower of IBO since its early days and have always been blown away by the expression and musicality of their performances. It will be a real privilege to work with Monica Huggett, the board and the artists to build and develop IBO into an internationally renowned and celebrated ensemble. ”
Paul Harwood, Chair of the IBO, says:
“We are delighted to have appointed Cian, who joins the IBO at an exciting time. We look forward to sharing the joys of expertly and authentically played baroque music throughout Ireland and beyond. Under Cian’s leadership, we are confident that our ambitious plans will be realised. We received a number of stellar applications for this key role, which brings home how highly respected the IBO is. I would like to thank all those involved in the recruitment process for all their hard work to recruit a CEO of such high calibre with excellent international experience.”
Cian can be contacted directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, and this is his first week with the IBO.
