BACH: MASS IN B MINOR

Bach's 'Mass in B Minor' is an extraordinary work, completed a year before Bach's death. The magnificence of this piece still shines brightly today, through both the serenity and deep contemplation of quieter moments juxtaposed with glorious celebration. The phenomenal voices of Sestina join with the IBO for this performance, with solos taken by members of the choir.
This performance takes place with the kind support of the CAF American Donor Fund and RTÉ Supporting the Arts

'IRELAND MEETS CROATIA'
VARAZDIN BAROQUE EVENINGS LAUNCH CONCERT
IBO Apprentices with Bojan Cicic, Director and Violin
The Varazdin Baroque Festival launch their 2022 programme, which this year takes Ireland as its theme. In this short programme, renowned Croatian violinist Bojan Cicic directs members of the IBO's Apprentice scheme in a programme of works by Stratico, Dubourg and Giordani.

GLUCK: Orfeo e Euridice

The Irish Baroque Orchestra embarks on a new partnership with Blackwater Valley Opera Festival in summer 2022, bringing Gluck's masterpiece opera 'Orfeo e Euridice' to Lismore Castle. Follow Orfeo's journey to find his beloved Euridice, brought to life by a team of superb soloists and the CoisCéim Dance Theatre company.

'HAPPY WE!': Works from Handel's 'Esther', 'Hercules' & 'Acis & Galatea'

Under the artistic direction of Peter Whelan at the harpsichord, international performers; Nuria and Juan will sing arias and duets in an exciting Handel programme entitled, “Happy We!”. The performance will draw its inspiration from Handel’s great works of ‘Esther’, ‘Hercules’ and ‘Acis & Galatea’. An evening of vocal fireworks and orchestral vibrancy that only Handel could write for awaits in the intimate setting of Dromore Yard.

The IBO reunite with Irish mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught following the huge success of 'The Trials of Tenducci' album launch in 2021. This is a rare chance to hear this glorious programme in full, comprising arias by J.C. Bach, Arne and Giordani plus Mozart's 'Exsultate Jubilate'.

Includes Bach's Concerto for two violins in D minor, and Concerto for violin, flute and harpsichord alongside Geminiani's popular 'La Follia' Concerto Grosso Op.5 No.12.
