25th ANNIVERSARY APPEAL

Small Group.png

From its beginnings as Christ Church Baroque in 1996, the Irish Baroque Orchestra has evolved into an ensemble whose name is a hallmark of quality, both at home and internationally.

Under Artistic Director Peter Whelan the orchestra's identity has developed further, with the ethos of a researching-performing organisation lying at the heart of its work.

The IBO uses its unique perspective to act as an ambassador for the stories of Ireland’s musical past, adding to the growing store of knowledge surrounding the very early days of Baroque and Classical music in Ireland. Through this work it creates an artistic legacy of committing new works to the Baroque canon, and generates new resource material for musicians. A revived strand of Ireland’s cultural identity is brought to audiences today, to be celebrated and enjoyed. A significant uplift in ambition underpins our plans for the next few years, and as part of this we are seeking to broaden our funding base, to allow us to fulfil our potential. You can donate via the options below, or you can select an alternative amount for your donation here

Now celebrating its 25th year, the IBO hopes to raise €200,000 by the end of 2021. Will you help us today?
