BAROQUE STRINGS DUBLIN

From September 2020 the IBO will be running Baroque Strings Dublin on Monday nights from 7pm - 9pm. The sessions will take place at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. This new amateur baroque string group is aimed at intermediate string players playing to the equivalent of Grade 6 standard or higheraged 18 and over. The group will be coached by one member from a team of IBO players. With participants playing on modern instruments with baroque bows, it is envisaged that these sessions will provide a valuable insight into the style and technique of period playing.

The tutoring team comprises Claire Duff (violin), Thérèse Timoney (violin), Aliye Cornish (viola) and Malachy Robinson (lower strings).

The first group of 10 sessions will begin on Monday September 14th and will run until November 30th, with two weeks off on October 19th and 26th. The cost is €15 per session (€10 for students), and by signing up you are committing to pay for all 10 sessions regardless of whether or not you are able to attend. For those genuinely unable to pay we are happy to offer a discretionary rate. Please contact Aliye on aliye@irishbaroqueorchestra.com or 083 1173095 if you would like to discuss this in confidence.
