CIARA SUDLOW

Ciara Sudlow (viola) is studying a masters in historical violin and viola at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Ciara grew up playing Irish trad music, and after hearing an inspiring performance on baroque instruments she quickly discovered many connections to the trad style. She fell in love with the expressive possibilities and colours of gut strings, and is currently exploring historical improvisation practices and rhetorical approaches to performance for her masters research.
