IBO APPRENTICE SCHEME 2023

The IBO Apprentice Scheme, established in early 2020, gives young musicians at the start of the career the invaluable experience that they need to take their first steps into the profession. With the support of the IBO players and management they become part of the family, learning through immersion in group rehearsals and performances.

Applications for the 2023 scheme are now closed. Read more about the scheme.

IRISH YOUTH BAROQUE ORCHESTRA

In 2017 the IBO partnered with the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras to create the Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra. Aimed at students aged 18-24, the course gives students on strings, oboe, bassoon and harpsichord the chance to work intensively on period instruments for a week in the summer, with Artistic Director Claire Duff and members of the IBO's tutoring team.
