UK Friends of the IBO

The Irish Baroque Orchestra represents Ireland on stages across the globe, capturing the imagination of audiences with our unique voice rooted in Ireland’s own heritage.

We will be celebrating 30 years in 2026 and during these years we have defined the agenda for historical performance in Ireland:

  • Developing more ambitious musical projects

  • Offering a greater range of opportunities to engage audiences, students and children in Ireland

  • Positioning the IBO as proud representative of Ireland on the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Royal Opera House and now the BBC Proms.

Education and social inclusion have become central to our work, with over 1,000 children set to enjoy interactive musical experiences with the IBO this year.

Support the IBO's work

A gift, whatever the size, will help sustain our mission.

The IBO is more than just an orchestra—it’s a cultural bridge connecting Ireland’s musical past to contemporary audiences. With your support, we can:

  • Bring our world-class musicians and performances to new audiences internationally.

  • Preserve and promote Ireland’s musical heritage on a global stage.

  • Expand our educational programmes, inspiring the next generation of musicians and music lovers and bringing impactful educational experiences to children in Dublin’s inner city.

  • Embark on a new mission to incorporate the Irish language in all of our printed and digital material.

Your generosity will help us to continue this important work, ensuring that the IBO continues to deliver artistic experiences which move and inspire.

I’ve always believed that if we want this brilliant group to continue to delight us, it’s important to show appreciation in a meaningful way.  That’s why my husband and I have been friends of the IBO for many years."
