The Irish Baroque Orchestra (IBO) is delighted to announce the appointment of Sinéad Hope as its new Chief Executive Officer. An experienced arts leader with over two decades of experience in Ireland’s cultural sector, she joins the Orchestra at an exciting time as it continues to build on its artistic achievements and expand its reach to audiences at home and internationally.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Irish Baroque Orchestra. It is an organisation I have long admired for its exceptional musicianship, artistic ambition and the imagination and energy it brings to music” commented Sinéad Hope.
“Under Peter Whelan’s artistic leadership, the Orchestra has achieved remarkable success, both at home and internationally, and I am hugely excited by the opportunity to contribute to the next chapter of its development.”
She continued “Having spent much of my career working with musicians, artists and audiences, I know the extraordinary power of live music to inspire, connect and bring people together.
I am particularly looking forward to working with the Artistic Director, Chair and Board, the dedicated team and its exceptional musicians to build on these achievements, develop new opportunities and partnerships, and bring the Orchestra’s music to even more audiences.
I look forward to working together to build on the Orchestra’s successes and explore the many opportunities that lie ahead.”
Sinéad Hope joins the Irish Baroque Orchestra from University Concert Hall (UCH), Limerick, where she has served as Managing Director since 2013. During her tenure, she has overseen significant growth and development of the organisation, strengthening its artistic profile, financial sustainability and national reputation, while developing strategic partnerships and expanding access to live performance. Prior to this, Sinéad held roles in fundraising, corporate development and concert management at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. She holds a BA, MLitt and MBA from University College Dublin.
Peter Finnegan, Chair of the Irish Baroque Orchestra stated “We are delighted to welcome Sinéad Hope as our new CEO. She brings an exceptional combination of experience, leadership and ambition at an exciting time in the orchestra’s development.
The IBO has established a growing reputation for artistic excellence, both nationally and internationally, and we are confident that Sinéad will play a central role in building on that success, extending our reach and realising our ambitions for the future.”
The appointment marks an important next chapter for the Irish Baroque Orchestra as it continues to champion historically informed performance, present exceptional Baroque music and bring its work to audiences across Ireland and beyond, under the artistic leadership of Peter Whelan. Sinéad will join the Orchestra in the coming weeks, ahead of its Christmas concert season.
