For the last decade the Irish Baroque Orchestra has been fortunate to have the President of Ireland, Uachtaráin na hÉireann Michael D. Higgins, as our sole Patron.
During this period the orchestra has become one of Ireland's foremost ensembles culminating in a recent performance at the BBC Proms, recognised as the world's greatest classical music festival.
Commenting on the patronage the Irish Baroque Orchestra's Chair, Peter Finnegan, says "As the President's term comes to an end we want to acknowledge his generosity in the role of sole Patron during his time in office. We are grateful for his interest in our ensemble and also the advocacy and friendship that he has brought to the arts sector in Ireland during his Presidency."
President Michael D. Higgins remains as the Irish Baroque Orchestra's Patron until the completion of his term on November 10th. All of us at the Irish Baroque Orchestra wish him the very best for the future.
