IRISH BAROQUE ORCHESTRA LAUNCHES 2024 CUSHION CONCERTS

Sponsored by IMRO, and presented in partnership with Dublin City Council and the Tesco Community Fund

The Irish Baroque Orchestra has launched its 2024 programme of Cushion Concerts designed to bring interactive, creative and fun musical experiences to children in Dublin’s inner city.

These sessions will take place in Dublin City Centre’s Pearse and Ringsend Libraries, with the kind support of Dublin City Council and the Tesco Community Fund. Concerts in Spring/Summer 2024 are sponsored by the Irish Music Rights Organisation.

Speaking on the new series, the Irish Baroque Orchestra’s CEO Aliye Cornish Moore says,

“We are delighted to be bringing our popular Cushion Concerts series back to Dublin, in new partnerships with Dublin City Council and the Tesco Community Fund. We were delighted with the support received by shoppers championing the series in Tesco stores across the city, most notably in Pearse and Ringsend. The generous sponsorship received by the Irish Music Rights Organisation underscores the commitment of both organisations to sparking creativity in children, and providing an open and fun environment in which to play and create”.

Keith Johnson, Director of Marketing & Membership Development, IMRO, adds IMRO is delighted to support initiatives like the Irish Baroque Orchestra's Cushion Concerts. These events not only provide enriching musical experiences for children but also foster creativity and community engagement. IMRO is committed to promoting music education and accessibility, and we're excited to see the positive impact these concerts will have on young audiences in Dublin's inner city”

Concerts will take place at 10.30am and 11.30am in the following locations:

Pearse Library April 13th and September 7th

Ringsend Library May 18th and October 5th
